Apply For Funding
Do you have an idea you'd like to try in the classroom but don't have a way to fund it?

The Parkland Public Schools Fund is now accepting applications for Teacher Mini-Grants.
The Deadline for applications is June 15, 2012

  • Applications are open to teachers from Park Trails Elementary, Heron Heights Elementary, Riverglades Elementary, Westglades Middle School and Stoneman Douglas High School.

Who can apply:

  • Individual teachers.
  • Teachers working together.
  • Team leaders on behalf of their grade.
  • Grants are available up to $500 for individual applicants, not to exceed $1,500 for groups.

Criteria

Some of the criteria considered for approval are:
  •  Does the project meet the standards of the Parkland Public Schools Fund Mission and Vision?
  • Will this request directly benefit students of Parkland’s public schools?
  • Will the request impact a broad range of students rather than specific individuals?

Request will not be funded for:
  • Personal honorariums.
  • Requests that already have an identifiable and reliable source of funding.
  • Teacher conferences.
  • Purchases pre-dating grant approval date.

 Once submission is received:
  • Requests for funding will be anonymously reviewed by the application committee.
  • When a decision has been made the applicant will be contacted.
  • If the application is approved, arrangements will be made to receive funds.
  • Please allow 30 to 60 days for the approval process.

Once your request is approved:
  • Project funds must be spent within one year of funding request approval unless otherwise outlined in the timeline.
  • A final expense report and written summary of how objectives were met is required within one year of funding approval.
  • All purchases remain the property of the Broward County School Board.
  • Periodic site visits may be conducted.
  • The Parkland Fund reserves the right to publicize all projects funded.
